Course Description- Creative Art is an introduction to the skills, techniques, and history of the visual arts. Students explore drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics. They  learn the concepts,skills and history associated with the visual arts.

Creative Art: Painting and Drawing

Course Description- Painting and Drawing is an advanced class focusing on increasing skills in painting and drawing. Students are encouraged to develop their own unique style and vision,  build their artistic skills while exploring new techniques and media, including pastels, pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, and mixed media.

AP Studio Art: 2D PHOTOGRAPHY

Course Description- The course uses the medium of photography as a means of developing mastery in the creation of visual images, with a particular emphasis on the sustained investigation of a strong, visual idea. Students learn the technical skills related to traditional black and white photography, digital imaging and alternative processes. Students are introduced to the history of photography and explore the work of historically important photographers, the impact of photography on the visual arts and the work of contemporary photographers and multimedia artists. The course is based on and culminates in the selection and submission of college level work that best represents and incorporates the students’ understanding and mastery of 2-D design issues. The course is designed to give students the technical and aesthetic strengths needed to create a compelling visual exploration or narrative centered on an idea that reveals the individual student’s unique artistic voice and passion.  Portfolio is required to complete course requirements.

AP Art and Design 3D: Ceramics

Course Description- The purpose of this course is to assist students to develop a portfolio demonstrating a broad interpretation of sculptural issues in depth and space.  These may include mass, volume, form, plane, light, and texture. This course is intended to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Portfolio in this subject and follows the published College Board guidelines. The portfolio will be required to complete course requirements.
