Course Description:  This sequential elective course will use lectures, readings, and performance to allow students to learn the basic principles of theater and history of the theater, Additionally, individual and duet acting scenes will be practiced and performed to illustrate character motivation, to practice basic movement, and to learn memorization techniques. Students are required to perform in a play before a selected audience, increasing their chances of participating in public productions. Career opportunities in the theater may be discussed.

This sequential elective course will use lectures, readings, and performance to allow students to build on principles of theater.  Individual, duet, and group scenes and plays will be practiced and performed for the public.  Additionally, Drama 4 students will take on the role and responsibilities of director.

MUSIC/THEATER TECHNOLOGY

Course Description:  Theater Technology is an introductory course that exposes students to basic broadcasting music/theater technology concepts using the MIDI, Digital Audio and Multimedia applications.  We will also cover Theater Operation Management, Event Planning and Production, and YouTube Broadcasting. This class includes a paid internship. Attendance at all performances is required.  This class includes a paid internship for activities outside of the school day.
