Grant's JJ Horacek goes for a drive!

GRANTS - On Tuesday, the No. 5 Grants Pirates traveled to Albuquerque to take on the No. 4 Hope Christian Huskies.  Unfortunately the Pirates came back with a disappointing loss, 82-52, to end their six-game winning streak.

The Huskies put up a tough fight for the Pirates (12-4 overall) as the Huskies started off hot and finished the game hot.  The Pirates started off slow in the first and second quarter, but finally gained momentum in the 3rd quarter as Boudy Melonas scored 15 points in the quarter.  But in the last quarter the Pirates run came to and end, as they scored 8 points as a team.

Melonas finished the game off with 15 points in the 3rd quarter and 21 points overall. Melonas said “We took a tough loss, but we will bounce back, and get ready for the next game."

That would be tonight, as the Pirates will have another tough task in front of them, taking on the Capital Jaguars who are 9-5 on the season. The Jaguars are on a two-game winnning streak coming off a huge win over the Valencia Jaguars.
