Pirates playing hard at the net

GRANTS - The Pirate volleyball team has started off its season playing very competitively, but after two games the Lady Pirates are still looking for their first win.

They have lost two close games, to the Bloomfield Bobcats, in a very close, 3-2 matchup. Following that road opener, the Lady Pirates dropped a 3-1 decision to Cottonwood Classical Prep, another competitive matchup.

The Pirates will hit the road today, August 27, as they are headed to take on the Miyamura Patriots in what should be another tough matchup. The Patriots will be opening up their season with the Pirates.

Senior volley player Aubrhyanna Garcia said “They are usually pretty good and I expect it to be a pretty tough battle.”

The Lady Pirates will stay on the road through September 7. Stay tuned for updates.
