GRANTS - On Friday, September 20, the Pirates were on the road as they went to take on the Kirtland Central Broncos in a tough matchup.
The Pirates (2-3 overall) came away with the win against the Broncos, 28-19
Pirates’ running back Andres Lazos finished the night off with 27 carries and 139 yards.
“I give all the credit to the offensive line,” Lazos said. “They played hard.”
On the defensive side Juaquine Rivera and Tristin Fernandez both finished the night with two sacks apiece; also Fernandez had nine solo tackles. “Performance can't get much better than that,” Fernandez said.
Grants will be in action on Friday September 27,2024, as the Pirates will be at home, taking on the Aztec Tigers. The 4A Tigers are 0-4 on the season as they have lost to Miyamura, Taos ,and Bloomfield, a few tough 4A schools.
Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
