His commitment, experience, and love for the game have made a lasting impact on our student-athletes, and now it’s his time to shine as he leads our program into the future!

We apologize for not having a two-hour delay today. This snow event did not happen until after 5 am, and the district must call a two-hour delay no later than 5 am, as busses are starting on their routes at 5:30 am. We realize the conditions are unsafe, and we will excuse absences for students today if you feel bringing your child to school is too dangerous.

Due to the extreme cold temperatures for the rest of the week, Grants Cibola County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.
Due to the forecasted extreme cold and potential school delays, the District Spelling Bee 2025 has been rescheduled. The event will now take place on January 28th at 9:30 AM at the PAC. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Due to the dangerously low temperatures tomorrow morning, Grants Cibola County Schools will be on a two hour delay January 22,2025.

The Grants Cibola County School district is very sad to hear of the passing of New Mexico Representative Eliseo "Lee" Alcon. Mr. Alcon was a dedicated member of our community and a champion for education in Cibola County. We are grateful for his tenure in office and for his legacy for our students. His leadership and support will be greatly missed. Representative Alcon made a difference in our community and in the schools of the Grants Cibola County Schools District.
Temperature Update at GHS
In an effort to be transparent regarding the temperatures at Grants High School, we want to address a circulating photo showing a thermostat reading 33 degrees. This image is misleading, as the thermostat displays both interior and exterior temperatures — the 33 degrees reflects the exterior temperature.
Yesterday, GCCS maintenance checked the heating system, and everything was functioning properly at that time. However, sometime between last night and this morning, the boiler temporarily shut off and had to be reset. This reset was completed early this morning, and we are already seeing temperatures steadily rise.
This morning, GHS administration, the Superintendent, and the Director of Maintenance conducted two walkthroughs of the building. Since then, the interior temperatures have already increased by approximately 5 degrees.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor and address this matter. Student and staff comfort remains a top priority, and we will provide updates as needed.
